Banana & Avocado Mash

A creamy, nutrient-dense mash made from ripe banana and avocado. Perfect as a quick breakfast, snack, or first baby food, this no-cook recipe delivers natural sweetness, healthy fats, and fiber in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe banana (≈ 120 g), peeled
  • 1 ripe avocado (≈ 200 g), pitted and peeled
  • 12 tsp fresh lemon or lime juice (optional, slows browning)

Instructions

  1. Slice the banana and avocado into chunks.
  2. Place both fruits in a bowl and mash with a fork until smooth (or pulse in a food processor for an ultra-silky purée).
  3. Stir in lemon/lime juice if using, tasting and adjusting for brightness.
  4. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.

Notes

  • For infants 6–8 months, thin the mash with breast milk, formula, or warm water to your desired consistency.
  • Add a pinch of ground cinnamon or a drizzle of plain yogurt for older kids and adults.
  • To store, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to minimize oxidation.
