- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Black gel food coloring (optional, for color)
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, Worcestershire sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
- Add black gel food coloring to the marinade, if desired, to achieve a dark “bat wing” effect.
- Add chicken wings to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Arrange the wings on the wire rack and bake for 35-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are dark and crispy.
- Remove from oven and serve warm for a spooky appetizer or party snack.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, pat the wings dry before marinating.
- You can grill the wings instead of baking if preferred.
- Food coloring is optional and only for visual effect.
