Beef Tacos

Classic beef tacos made with seasoned ground beef, fresh toppings, and crispy taco shells — a quick and delicious meal perfect for any night.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 small taco shells (hard or soft)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Sour cream, for serving (optional)
  • Salsa, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Drain any excess fat and stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  6. Warm taco shells according to package instructions.
  7. Assemble tacos by filling shells with beef mixture, then top with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and cilantro.
  8. Serve with sour cream and salsa if desired.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add jalapeños for extra spice.
  • Make ahead and reheat for quick weeknight dinners.
