Caesar Salad with Parmesan Crisps

A fresh and crunchy Caesar salad topped with homemade parmesan crisps, creamy dressing, and crisp romaine lettuce for a delicious twist on a classic dish.

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for crisps)
  • 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • 1 cup croutons
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional, for dressing if homemade)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for dressing if homemade)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spoon small mounds of grated Parmesan cheese onto the baking sheet, spacing them apart, and flatten slightly.
  3. Bake for 5–7 minutes until golden and crisp. Remove and let cool.
  4. In a large salad bowl, combine chopped romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, and croutons. Toss well to coat evenly.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice if desired.
  6. Top the salad with shaved Parmesan and homemade Parmesan crisps before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and texture.
  • You can prepare the Parmesan crisps in advance and store them in an airtight container.
  • Add grilled chicken, shrimp, or salmon for extra protein.
