- 1 lemon, quartered

- 1-inch (2.5 cm) fresh turmeric root

- 1-inch (2.5 cm) fresh ginger root

- Wash all produce thoroughly.

- Stir the juice, divide between two glasses and serve immediately.

		Notes

- Use a sweet variety such as Fuji or Gala apple for a mellower flavor.

- No juicer? Blend everything with 120 ml (½ cup) water, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve or nut-milk bag.

- Drink right away to preserve vitamin C and other heat-sensitive nutrients.

- Add a pinch of black pepper to improve turmeric absorption.
