Cheesy Baked Tortellini

A comforting, family-friendly pasta bake made with cheese-filled tortellini, rich tomato sauce, and plenty of gooey melted cheese.

  • 1 lb (450 g) cheese tortellini, fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups (480 ml) marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook tortellini according to package directions until just al dente; drain.
  3. In a large bowl, mix marinara sauce, cream, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in cooked tortellini until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • You can add cooked ground beef, sausage, or chicken for extra protein.
  • Use a mix of cheeses like provolone or cheddar for a different flavor.
  • For a lighter version, substitute milk for cream.
