Chicken Fajita Wraps without Sauces

Delicious and flavorful chicken fajita wraps made with tender chicken strips, sautéed bell peppers, onions, and a blend of spices, wrapped in warm tortillas for a quick and satisfying meal.

  • 500g boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into thin strips
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 6 medium flour tortillas
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, guacamole

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Toss chicken strips with half of the spice mix and 1 tbsp olive oil.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add chicken, and cook for 5-6 minutes until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet, then sauté onion and bell peppers with the remaining spice mix for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, add lime juice, and toss to combine.
  6. Warm tortillas in a dry pan or microwave.
  7. Fill each tortilla with chicken and vegetable mixture, add desired toppings, and wrap tightly.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate chicken in spices and lime juice for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas for a healthier option.
  • Serve with a side of Mexican rice or salad for a complete meal.
