- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

- 4 large eggs

- 1 tbsp vanilla extract

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans or line with parchment paper.

- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.

- In a small bowl, combine milk and sour cream.

- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk mixture to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

- Gently fold in the sprinkles.

- Divide batter evenly among prepared pans and smooth the tops.

- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.

- Frost the cooled cakes with buttercream and decorate with additional sprinkles.

		Notes

- Use jimmies-style sprinkles to prevent color bleeding in the batter.

- Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for best mixing results.

- Store cake covered at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
