Croffles (Croissant Waffles)

Croffles are a delicious hybrid between croissants and waffles. They are made by cooking buttery croissant dough in a waffle maker, resulting in a crispy, flaky treat perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of refrigerated croissant dough (or 4 uncooked croissants)
  • Butter or non-stick spray (for greasing waffle iron)
  • Optional toppings: powdered sugar, syrup, whipped cream, fresh fruits, chocolate sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker according to manufacturer instructions.
  2. Unroll the croissant dough and separate it into individual pieces if using canned dough. If using uncooked croissants, leave them whole or slightly rolled.
  3. Lightly grease the waffle iron with butter or non-stick spray.
  4. Place one croissant piece in the center of the waffle iron and gently close the lid without pressing too hard.
  5. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Carefully remove the croffle and repeat with remaining dough.
  7. Serve warm with desired toppings.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade croissant dough.
  • Sweet or savory toppings both work well depending on your preference.
  • Best served fresh and warm out of the waffle iron.
