Ferrero Rocher Cake

A rich and indulgent Ferrero Rocher Cake featuring layers of moist chocolate hazelnut sponge, creamy Nutella frosting, and crushed Ferrero Rocher chocolates for a luxurious dessert experience.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup crushed hazelnuts
  • 1012 Ferrero Rocher chocolates (crushed or halved)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (for frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  5. Stir in hot water and mix until well incorporated.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the cake pans and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
  8. For the frosting, beat butter until creamy, add Nutella and mix well.
  9. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add heavy cream to adjust consistency.
  10. Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread a layer of frosting, sprinkle with crushed hazelnuts and Ferrero Rocher pieces.
  11. Top with the second cake layer and frost the top and sides.
  12. Decorate with additional Ferrero Rocher chocolates and crushed hazelnuts.
  13. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving for best results.

Notes

  • You can substitute buttermilk with 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice.
  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Use a serrated knife to cut clean slices through the Ferrero Rocher toppings.
