Fruit Leather Roll-Ups

Homemade fruit leather roll-ups are a healthy, naturally sweet snack made from pureed fruit that is baked or dehydrated until chewy. Perfect for kids and adults alike, they are a fun alternative to store-bought fruit snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen fruit (e.g., strawberries, mangoes, peaches, apples, or mixed berries)
  • 24 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on fruit sweetness)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 140°F (60°C) or the lowest setting available. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Wash, peel, and chop the fruit as needed. Place fruit, lemon juice, and sweetener (if using) into a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. Pour the puree onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread evenly into a thin, uniform layer about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Bake for 4–6 hours, or until the fruit leather is no longer sticky to the touch and peels away easily from the parchment.
  5. Allow to cool, then cut into strips. Roll them up with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  6. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the refrigerator for longer shelf life.

Notes

  • Different fruits can be combined for unique flavors.
  • A dehydrator can be used instead of an oven.
  • Adjust sweetness depending on the natural sugar content of the fruit.
  • Make sure to spread puree evenly to avoid undercooked spots.
