- 4 cups fresh or frozen fruit (e.g., strawberries, mangoes, peaches, apples, or mixed berries)
- 2–4 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on fruit sweetness)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Preheat oven to 140°F (60°C) or the lowest setting available. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Wash, peel, and chop the fruit as needed. Place fruit, lemon juice, and sweetener (if using) into a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth.
- Pour the puree onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread evenly into a thin, uniform layer about 1/8 inch thick.
- Bake for 4–6 hours, or until the fruit leather is no longer sticky to the touch and peels away easily from the parchment.
- Allow to cool, then cut into strips. Roll them up with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the refrigerator for longer shelf life.
Notes
- Different fruits can be combined for unique flavors.
- A dehydrator can be used instead of an oven.
- Adjust sweetness depending on the natural sugar content of the fruit.
- Make sure to spread puree evenly to avoid undercooked spots.
