Soft, buttery garlic breadsticks served warm with a side of rich marinara sauce for dipping. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or side dish to pasta dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine yeast, warm water, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape.
  6. Place breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake breadsticks for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and garlic powder.
  9. Brush hot breadsticks with garlic butter mixture immediately after baking.
  10. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra cheesy flavor, sprinkle with grated Parmesan before baking.
  • You can use store-bought pizza dough to save time.
  • Best served warm but can be reheated in the oven.
