- 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
- In a small bowl, combine yeast, warm water, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape.
- Place breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake breadsticks for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and garlic powder.
- Brush hot breadsticks with garlic butter mixture immediately after baking.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For extra cheesy flavor, sprinkle with grated Parmesan before baking.
- You can use store-bought pizza dough to save time.
- Best served warm but can be reheated in the oven.
