- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1–2 jalapeños, finely chopped (optional, for heat)
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 bag tortilla chips
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- Mash the avocado with a fork until smooth but slightly chunky.
- Add the onion, tomatoes, jalapeños, cilantro, lime juice, and garlic to the bowl.
- Season with salt and pepper, then mix gently until well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
Notes
- For extra creaminess, add a tablespoon of sour cream or Greek yogurt.
- To keep guacamole from browning, cover tightly with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
- Best served fresh within a few hours of making.
