Guacamole

A creamy and flavorful Mexican dip made with ripe avocados, lime juice, and fresh ingredients, perfect for serving with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth but slightly chunky.
  2. Add lime juice and salt, and mix to combine.
  3. Stir in the onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic until well incorporated.
  4. If desired, add cayenne pepper for extra heat.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, roast the tomatoes and garlic before adding.
  • Adjust lime juice and salt to taste.
  • Best served fresh; guacamole browns quickly after preparation.
