- 3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
- In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth but slightly chunky.
- Add lime juice and salt, and mix to combine.
- Stir in the onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic until well incorporated.
- If desired, add cayenne pepper for extra heat.
- Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, roast the tomatoes and garlic before adding.
- Adjust lime juice and salt to taste.
- Best served fresh; guacamole browns quickly after preparation.
