Loaded Nachos

Loaded nachos are a popular Tex-Mex dish featuring layers of crispy tortilla chips topped with melted cheese, seasoned meat, beans, vegetables, and a variety of toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.

  • 1 bag (10-12 oz) tortilla chips
  • 1 lb ground beef or shredded chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onions
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup salsa or pico de gallo

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water to the meat, stir, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. On a large baking sheet, spread half of the tortilla chips.
  5. Top with half of the meat, black beans, cheese, tomatoes, olives, onions, and jalapeños.
  6. Repeat the layers with remaining chips and toppings.
  7. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle with cilantro.
  9. Top with dollops of sour cream, guacamole, and salsa before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the meat or use plant-based meat alternatives.
  • Customize with your favorite toppings like corn, lettuce, or hot sauce.
  • Serve immediately to maintain crispiness of chips.
