  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder (culinary grade)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (170g) white chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips or chunks.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares and serving.
