- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) unflavored gelatin
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Fresh berries or fruit sauce, for topping (optional)
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the milk and let it bloom for 5-10 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the cream is hot but not boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into ramekins or molds and let cool to room temperature.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- To serve, unmold the panna cotta onto plates or serve directly in the ramekins. Top with fresh berries or fruit sauce if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can substitute some of the cream with coconut milk or buttermilk.
- To unmold easily, dip the ramekins in warm water for a few seconds.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on your preference.
