Pear Mash

Pear mash is a simple, naturally sweet and nutritious fruit puree made by cooking and mashing ripe pears. It can be served as a baby food, dessert topping, or a healthy snack.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and chop the pears into small pieces.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the pears with water and lemon juice.
  3. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until the pears are soft.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Mash with a fork or puree in a blender until smooth or desired consistency is reached.
  6. Serve warm, chilled, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Use ripe, soft pears for best flavor and texture.
  • Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to a month.
  • Lemon juice helps preserve the color and adds slight tartness.
