Peppermint Mocha

A festive and cozy coffeehouse-style drink made with espresso, steamed milk, chocolate, and peppermint flavors, perfect for the holiday season.

  • 1 shot (1 oz) espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup milk (any kind)
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Crushed peppermint candies or chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brew the espresso or strong coffee and pour into a mug.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until hot but not boiling.
  3. Whisk in the chocolate syrup and peppermint extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the milk mixture over the coffee and stir to combine.
  5. Top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candies or chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust peppermint extract to taste; a little goes a long way.
  • Use dairy-free milk for a vegan version.
  • You can also use peppermint syrup instead of extract if preferred.
