- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 sandwich buns
- Optional: coleslaw for topping
- Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker or large pot.
- Add barbecue sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours (or simmer in a pot for about 1.5 hours until chicken is tender).
- Remove the chicken and shred it using two forks.
- Return the shredded chicken to the sauce and mix well to coat.
- Serve the pulled chicken on sandwich buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
