Rainbow Churros with Dips

- 1 cup water
- 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Food coloring (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup chocolate sauce (for dip)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (for dip)
- 1/2 cup strawberry sauce (for dip)
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and 2 tbsp vegetable oil. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
- Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball of dough.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and tint each portion with a different food coloring.
- Transfer each colored dough into piping bags fitted with a star tip.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pan to 375°F (190°C).
- Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Roll warm churros in the mixture to coat.
- Serve warm with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry dipping sauces.
Notes
- For extra crispness, fry churros in small batches.
- You can use any food coloring of choice for your rainbow effect.
- Best served immediately while warm and crispy.
