- 1/4 cup (25 g) instant rice cereal
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) water, breast milk, formula or unsweetened plant milk
- 1/2 medium ripe banana, mashed (about 50 g)
- Optional: pinch of ground cinnamon
- In a small saucepan, bring the water or milk to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.
- Whisk in the rice cereal, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens to a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Remove from heat and stir in the mashed banana until fully incorporated.
- Sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon if using. Let cool to a safe temperature before serving.
Notes
- For thinner cereal, add an extra splash of liquid after cooking.
- Replace banana with puréed pear or apple for variety.
