Stuffed Mushrooms

Savory stuffed mushrooms filled with a flavorful mixture of breadcrumbs, cheese, garlic, and herbs, perfect as an appetizer or party snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 large white mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional for creaminess)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems. Finely chop the stems and set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped mushroom stems and garlic; sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, cream cheese (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  5. Stuff each mushroom cap with the prepared filling and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  6. Drizzle the stuffed mushrooms with the remaining olive oil.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.
  8. Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream cheese with ricotta for a lighter filling.
  • For extra flavor, add chopped cooked bacon or sausage to the filling.
  • Make ahead by stuffing mushrooms, refrigerating, and baking just before serving.
