- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup strong brewed espresso or coffee, cooled
- 2 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)
- 12–16 ladyfinger cookies
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
- Combine the brewed coffee or espresso with the coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and layer them in the bottom of serving cups.
- Spoon a layer of mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat layers as needed, ending with the mascarpone cream on top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
- Do not over-soak the ladyfingers; a quick dip is enough.
- Can be made a day in advance for deeper flavor.
- Alcohol can be omitted for a kid-friendly version.
