Turkey Meatballs and Spaghetti Without Sauce

Juicy turkey meatballs simmered in a rich tomato sauce, served over tender spaghetti for a lighter twist on a classic Italian comfort dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • Water for boiling pasta
  • Extra Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Pour marinara sauce into the skillet, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until meatballs are cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in boiling salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti, topped with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For extra tenderness, avoid overmixing the meatball mixture.
  • You can substitute whole wheat spaghetti for added fiber.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a little heat.
