Viral Crookie (Croissant + Cookie)

A trendy fusion treat combining the flaky layers of a croissant with the chewy, gooey richness of a chocolate chip cookie.

  • 1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry or croissant dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and refrigerate cookie dough for 15-30 minutes.
  6. Roll out the croissant dough or puff pastry and cut into triangles (if using croissant dough).
  7. Place a scoop of chilled cookie dough in the center of each triangle and roll into croissant shape.
  8. Brush the tops with egg wash.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
